Batons are counted as street weapons according to the knife law and may not be carried in a public place. For carrying, it is required that you are on duty, and in some cases a special education and / or a personal permit. In Sweden, telescopic batons are used by police, military police, the prison guards and security guards.
Private individuals in Sweden can buy a telescopic baton and store it at home as a collector's weapon when they turn 18 years old.
